To Hope, the picture represented the very essence of contentment. A lazy day spent with the man she loved….

“Do you like Club Penguin?”

The question brought Hope back from her dreamland. “Pardon?”

“Club Penguin,” Giuseppe repeated. His voice, thick and rich, made Hope think of Christmas eggnog. “The bar on Level Eight. Shall we?”

She nodded. Didn’t care which bar. Tick the box next to Action Point Two, that’s all she wanted.

There, on a side table, in a silver ice bucket, was a bottle of champagne. Zorro’s words came back to her: Now that I’m no longer your instructor, how about a bottle of champagne on my boat, followed by a sunset dinner and a night of hot lovemaking?

Andy looked like a god in his tight black jeans. He didn’t have a shirt on and the muscles moving under his mocha skin made Tanya forget about chocolate cake.

She expected him to kiss her as soon as he had opened the door. Instead, he led her into the bungalow’s kitchen. It felt domesticated, and somehow more intimate than kissing.

The kitchen turned out to be a kitchenette. Tanya appraised the tiny space with mounting panic. No double boiler. No stove. And no oven. How on earth was she going to bake a cake if there was no oven?

“Second thoughts?” Andy stood in the doorway. His smirk was audible. “You could always forfeit the bet and ask Isabelle if she has more of her birthday cake left.”

“Very funny. Not. Did you get the ingredients from the restaurant?”

“Yup.”

“Good. Are you going to stand there the whole time, watching?”

“Yup.”

Tanya longed to touch his mouth again, to feel that hard roundness with her fingers and on her lips and under her tongue.

“I guess I’ll skip the step that says to preheat the oven, then.”

Andy nodded. “Just as well. Your oven looks hot enough to me.” His face was deadpan.

Tanya cleared her throat. “Where is the butter?”

“On the counter.”

“In this heat?” Tanya poked her index finger into the pale-yellow block and felt it slither all the way in. Pure velvet. Like a very ready pussy. Tanya swallowed hard. The craving for Andy’s fingers glided down her spine all the way to her knees. “Here, you do it. Grease the baking pan.”

Andy’s hand dug into the silky surface of the block. He took his time paying attention to the innermost folds of the baking pan, caressing until every inch was perfectly lubricated.

“Nonsense,” the elderly gentleman‟s voice boomed across the hall. “We don‟t take the game seriously. But evenings are so boring in this place– there is only so much Fijian dancing an old grump like me can watch in a week.”
“Surely, with a delightful wife like yours–” The conman‟s eyes blazed brazen as he lifted Mrs. Lockhorne‟s wrinkled hand to his mouth.
He held it there for about one hundred years, while Tanya looked on, transfixed. The air around her thickened, she gulped its heat in short shallow breaths. She would give all her days in this five-star beach resort in exchange for one night with that mouth.

Jean Drew, w/a Jean Adams, is very excited to have three books coming out this year. One set in ancient Egypt at the time of the religious unheavals of Akhenaten, titled ETERNAL HEARTS, and a re-issue of BEATS A WILD HEART, a contemporary set on Bodmin Moor, Cornwall. Both these books will be published by Highland Press. The third, A PLACE OF HEALING a Champagne Rose imprint will be published by Wild Rose Press and is set on a secluded New Zealand beach. Yvonne Eve Walus sets her stories in South Africa during the crucial period of transition from an apartheid government to a democratically-elected one.
