On the eve of battle, William meets a being called Ahriman and is offered a chance to save Allen's life.but only at a great price. Although it tears him apart, William agrees to save Allen from his fate and begins a chain of events that offers him great treasures-the crown of the nation, a magical device that opens a door to a world of dragons and, rarest of all, the love of two good people-which he knows he does not deserve. Can the aid of the dragons put right the damage done? Warning: This book is an alternative romance with three people (two men and a woman) falling in love.

New Zealand Romance Authors present a talk at Glenfield Library

As part of the North Shore City Library theme of “Pass it on” Glenfield Library is delighted to present three New Zealand Romance Authors: Yvonne Eve Walus, Jane Beckenham, ND Hansen-Hill.

When: Tuesday, 16 October, 10.30am
Where: Glenfield Library, North Shore, Auckland

Yvonne Eve Walus sets her stories in South Africa during the crucial period of transition from an apartheid government to a democratically-elected one. Although not politically flavoured, they nevertheless capture the flavour of the socio-political atmosphere. Apartheid in South Africa was not only about race, it was about gender, too. The book shows how people of the "old school of thinking" adapted to deal with the new reality of a woman being allowed to walk into a bar or own a house without her husband's permission.

For author Jane Beckenham 2007 is a celebration with the release of her fourth book. Hiring Cupid, a fun and sexy read that will leave you searching for your very own Cupid, and hot on its tails is her upcoming release He’s The One. Along with historical/time travel novels set in ancient Judea, and Jamaica, life for this author is a round of playing mum's taxi service for her teenagers, all the while wondering what her hero and heroine are up to behind her back! Writing is Jane’s addiction, and it sure beats housework.

2007 has been a "year of romance" for SF, fantasy, and horror author N. D. Hansen-Hill, with four romance novels completed. 2007 has also seen the release of Gilded Folly and In Trysts (as Melody Knight) in print, and the completion of Hansen-Hill's 30th novel, a fantasy action adventure. In 2008, watch for the release of In Flames (writing as Melody Knight - January release), ErRatic (February), The Hollowing (March/April), and Gray Beginnings (May/June). Hansen-Hill's current projects include a romance novella and a high action paranormal suspense novel.
