Valentine's Day with a Difference

Because 14 February is all about red roses and pink hearts, I thought of doing something slightly more original. So here is a question to all the readers out there:

What's your favourite Kiwi Romance book that's not only all about romance?

Mine is Melody Knight's "In Trysts". I would have added "Sing to me, dreamer" too, but Shonagh Koea might have a heart attack. :-)

Jean Drew, w/a Jean Adams, is very excited to have three books coming out this year. One set in ancient Egypt at the time of the religious unheavals of Akhenaten, titled ETERNAL HEARTS, and a re-issue of BEATS A WILD HEART, a contemporary set on Bodmin Moor, Cornwall. Both these books will be published by Highland Press. The third, A PLACE OF HEALING a Champagne Rose imprint will be published by Wild Rose Press and is set on a secluded New Zealand beach. More news as it comes to hand.

Kiwi Novel makes it on Amazon

My unpublished manuscript, "Substitute wives", is one of the 20% who made the semi finals in the Amazon Breakthrough Novel contest: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B001200CFK. If you find the time to read the 5000 words and post a review, I would be very grateful. Yes, it does have strong romance elements, although it is not a conventional romantic story. WARNING: some people say the excerpt is explicit. My mother in law, for example, is no longer talking to me.... :-)

Thos Christmas Book Vouchers....

Now that Christmas is over, it's time to sort through all your wanted and unwanted Christmas presents. If you're lucky, you will have at least one bookshop gift voucher in your stash. If I'm lucky, you will wonder how to spend it.

So here is one idea: spend the voucher on "“Small Price To Pay” by Yvonne Eve Walus (Echelon Press, 2007, ISBN: 1-59080-536-4) . And if you think the idea is cheeky, wait till you read the book! :-)

When a woman overhears her husband planning a tryst with his lover, it isn't his infidelity that sets her on a course to rediscovery, but a simple comment, not meant for her ears…"She's too vain to have an affair when she's fat." In that moment, she decides to take her life back…no matter what the price!

"Loads of fun, and an absolutely witty take on the meanings of revenge and pleasure. Yvonne turns the conventions upside-down to make a wonderfully entertaining read! " ~Heather S. Ingemar
